Great Wide Open’s Summer Camp 2026!
It may be cold right now, but summer will be here before we know it! It’s time to start planning for Summer Camp. Our campers have tons of fun with themed weeks, water activities, and hands-on projects. Camp is divided into two age groups: ages 3-5, and ages 6-10 (rising K-4th grade). Each group will have separate activities, but themes and camp hours will remain consistent for all. This is so we can offer a more interesting and engaging summer camp experience for all ages.
Who Can Register for Camp?
GWO Summer Camp accepts registrations from previous campers or those families who have already toured our school. If your child has not attended one of our camps or you have not yet toured our school, please contact us to schedule a visit to register or if you have questions regarding any of our programs: 704-264-5746. We do not accept online registration for any of our programs, including Summer Camp.
Registration forms and fees are due by March 30, 2026, to hold your space for camp. Camp begins June 1, 2026, and runs Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.
What does it cost?
Cost of camp is $125/week per child. Payments are due on the 20th of the preceding month (i.e., June payment is due May 20th). A reminder email will be sent 5 days before camp payments are due letting you know for which weeks you are enrolled and the total payment for that month.
A non-refundable registration/supply* fee of $65/child is due upon enrollment and will be applied to your first week of camp.
*Week-by-week registration is based on availability. Last-minute campers are always welcomed provided we have space!
What will they be doing?
Following is the list of summer camp themes for this year. We are bringing back many favorites but we also have some fun new ideas thrown in that we are super excited about! And as usual there will be lots of messy activities, water play, and general silliness and shenanigans. We’re going to have tons of fun!

Week One - June 1 to June 5
SPACE CAMP
This week we will put on our astronaut suits and explore outer space, walk on the “moon,” learn about gravity, build our own space shuttle, and even try some astronaut food. Maybe we’ll even encounter life “out there!”

Week Two - June 8 to June 12
LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION
We’ll grab our costumes and create our own videos and plays. We’ll learn about the “green screen” and experiment with lots of silly special effects involved in movie making. This is a summer camp favorite and will be lots of fun!

Week Three - June 15 to June 19
CRAZY ART
Unleash your inner artist with pendulum painting, squirt bottle art, paint dipping, paint pouring, shaving cream painting and more! Lots of fun, messy ways to explore your creativity and discover your hidden art talents.

Week Four - June 22 to June 26
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE SUPER SPY
Each day brings a special secret mission and a mystery to solve. Follow secret clues all week to solve the mystery of our escape room on Friday! This is a HUGE favorite every year!

Week Five - July 13 to July 17
SHARK WEEK
Explore the deep blue sea in our “yellow submarine” and come face to face with the many kinds of sharks that inhabit the earth’s oceans!

Week Six - July 20 to July 24
SUPER HEROES
Are you a Super Hero? A ninja? Someone who fights for what’s right? This week you might discover special abilities and super powers you didn’t know you have! Lots of action-packed play and super hero contests.

Week Seven - July 27 to July 31
LEGO WEEK
This is the week for our Lego lovers! Show off your amazing Lego building skills and enter our contest to win Best Lego Builder award! Another one of our all-time camp favorites.

Week Eight - Aug 10 to Aug 14
TREASURE HUNT
You never know if there’s treasure around! Find the missing pieces of a secret map hidden throughout the school and put them all together to discover where the treasure is hidden. Finders, keepers!

Week Nine - Aug 17 to Aug 21
IT’S 5 O’CLOCK SOMEWHERE
This week will be all about relaxing and enjoying the beach life on our own little “island” while sipping tropical drinks from our Tiki Hut! And of course, lots of water play!

Week Ten - Aug 24 to Aug 28
WACKY GAMES WEEK
This week will be full of silly goofy games, indoors and outdoors! Granny Pants races, lava races, obstacle course, rob-the-nest, and more. We had so much fun with this last summer we had to bring it back!
